For personal reasons Seal decided to move on from his role of Social Networking Admin.
To fill the void left behind by him, Bench decided to step in and take over. I’m sure a lot of you already know Bench from netGameRadio and his various other roles in the Australian Gaming Scene.
He will be taking over our online presence on Facebook, Twitter and Steam Community.
Make him feel welcome guys

Two years ago Valve hired the talented team behind the popular top down co-op mod Alien Swarm. Since then they have been busy working on the Left 4 Dead Series, and now Portal 2. However, we never forgot about Alien Swarm and the team has spent a lot of time bringing the game to Source in between their contributions to the other Valve projects.
On Monday, July 19th Alien Swarm is going to be released for free via Steam.
In addition to the game, Valve will also release the complete code base for Alien Swarm. This includes updates to the Source engine SDK and full Steamworks integration. If you’ve ever thought about developing a mod on the Source engine with Steamworks, this release provides more insight and examples for using Steamworks in game production.

Just a few days ago, I wrote an article about Blizzard introducing a "ReadID" system where forum-goers were to use their real names. This was to put an end to trolls, and hold people more accountable to what the post online.
After an uproar from most of the community, Blizzard has removed this requirement from the new system. However, Blizzard says it will still make other changes intended to curb bad behavior in the game forums. These include the ability to vote comments up or down, with low-rated posts slowly disappearing.
With more than 26000 gamers expressing their anger on the forums, this is really no surprise. I will not link it, but there was also a page dedicated to the listing of as much personal information as possible, of those linked to Blizzard to prove what you can do with "Just a name".

We have seen 3D technology become bigger and bigger as of late, with blockbuster films like Toy Story 3 and the eye candy of Avatar, leaving an impression on us, and the announcement of the 3DS at E3, I guess it really wasnt long until we saw 3D TV making its way into our own homes. Ofcourse many will know that 3D TV has been out for a while now, atleast during to world cup, but most will not have been able to experience it.
I remember watching 3D movies on these suckers and having a small headache afterwards:

So when I read that scientists from The Vision Centre said:
"In actual fact, two-dimensional TV creates more of a conflict for our visual system than 3D TV, because we have to interpret a 3D image out of a flat screen, whereas 3D TV is just giving us a 3D picture."
Prof Clifford adds the good news is that people who can’t afford a 3D television can create their own by watching an ordinary TV with a hand over one eye. “By covering the second eye, you lose the cue from that eye that tells you the screen is in fact flat, and so the image appears more in-depth and realistic. You could say it’s a kind of poor man’s 3D TV.”
However, he adds, it is a good idea not to watch any sort of television to excess, and always from a sensible viewing distance.
